Welcome to the Voluntary Care Professional Register

The Voluntary Care Professional Register (VCPR) is a joint initiative by the National Association of Care & Support Workers (NACAS) and the Institute of Health & Social Care Management (IHSCM), and developed as a result of the absence of any anticipated mandatory register for England. The VCPR is a pilot project hosted and administered by NACAS. The project phase, will run until Spring 2025. It is then hoped it can become a stand alone enterprise in its own right. For more information about the register please see the links and banner headings below.

“Care England warmly welcomes the launch of the Voluntary Care Professional Register (VCPR) a significant milestone in enhancing recognition and improving the status of care professionals in England"
